GameAccount appoints Aristocrat CTO as president of North America

24th May 2013 10:00 am GMT

UK gaming developer GameAccount Network has appointed Aristocrat Technologies’ chief technology officer Julius Patta as president of the company’s newly established North American division.

GameAccount said Patta will head up the company’s new representative office in the United States, which will serve the company's operational, support and business development needs of North America.

In his new role, Patta’s immediate responsibility will be to develop comprehensive support infrastructure for GameAccount’s regional partners and customers.

GameAccount recently entered into an agreement to launch online gaming in the US market for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN), owner and operator of Foxwoods Resort Casino, and also last year launched an online casino website for Maryland Live Casino! in partnership with Aristocrat.

“We're delighted Mr. Patta will be joining our management team,” said GameAccount CEO Dermot Smurfit. “With an extensive background in gaming operations, technology, business development and entrepreneurial leadership, Mr. Patta represents a new breed of gaming management, perfectly suited to develop our business in one of the world's most exciting, regulated, emerging Internet gaming markets.”

GameAccount confirmed that the company’s core research and development facilities will continue to operate from the London corporate offices.

Patta will commence his new role in July and will report to GameAccount CEO Dermot Smurfit.

He will bring with him vast experience in the online gaming sector, having most recently served as chief technology officer for Aristocrat for the past three years.

Before joining Aristocrat, he served as CEO of Slovenske Loterie, the national video lottery terminal (VLT) operator in the Slovak Republic, and prior to that created PlayStar Inc, one of the first internet gaming technology companies in Canada.

Patta's appointment is subject to standard industry-specific background and compliance checks, and relevant work approvals.
