Boyd Gaming looks online to grow and diversify business

US casino operator Boyd Gaming said Wednesday that the company is optimistic about the potential of the emerging online gaming market in the US and expects its Borgata brand to capture a significant share of the New Jersey online market.

Alongside publication of its first quarter financial results, Boyd said that the emerging online gaming market provides an opportunity for the company to grow and diversify its business.

“As we look forward, we are excited by the potential of our online gaming strategy,” said Boyd Gaming president and CEO Keith Smith. “New Jersey and Nevada are now laying the regulatory groundwork for online gaming, and other states are considering legalization as well.  

“This emerging business provides a compelling opportunity to significantly grow and diversify our business, and we intend to take full advantage of it.”
