The US Department of Labour has moved to aid workers affected by the closure of several of Atlantic City’s casinos by granting the state’s Department of Labour and Workforce Development a National Emergency grant of up to $29.4m.
The money will be used to fund employer-driven training programmes and help affected workers learn new skills for re-employment in new and emerging job sectors.
