Romanian Lottery to face charges for running unlicensed slots

Romania’s National Lottery is facing charges for allegedly operating unlicensed slot machines in the country over an eight year period.

The country’s Court of Appeal claims that the lottery operated a total of 6,263 devices between 2006 and 2014, raising a total of RON463.37m (€105m) that the court prosecutor now wants to recoup.

The machines were allegedly installed by Intralot’s Romanian subsidiary LOTROM SA, which is being charged alongside the lottery, and two other private Greek companies [...]
