Alderney-licensed software provider Relax Gaming has expanded its existing partnership with Unibet in a move that will see the company enter the online bingo market and launch a new network this summer.

Four skins will initially launch on the network, with Bingo.com and iGame to go live alongside the Unibet and Maria brands, and more to be added over the course of the year.

“We are delighted to continue on the success of our poker software with the development of a bingo network,” Relax chief executive Patrik Österåker commented. “Our focus is to deliver a modern, engaging client that has clever solutions to some of the problems operators sees with their current bingo offering.”

The move strengthens Relax’s partnership with Unibet, after the operator ended its partnership with Microgaming to launch a stand-alone poker product with the supplier in December 2013. Unibet also acquired a stake in the business for €1.25m at the same time.

Relax then poached Unibet’s head of poker operations Martin Stålros, hiring the former Ladbrokes marketing executive as its chief operating officer in October last year.

The launch of the bingo product will also see the supplier build its operational team after Stålros joined the company in January.

“With the bingo launch approaching we are expanding the bingo team and are recruiting for several roles. Just as with our poker product we don't plan to just launch and maintain but rather continue with rapid development and frequent releases,” Österåker explained. “This makes it truly exciting from an operational point of view and our aim is to be in the forefront of bingo innovation.”
