London-listed payments provider SafeCharge has secured its first significant client in Italy with an agreement to provide a range of its payments solutions to licensed online gaming operator Sisal.it.

SafeCharge said that its technology would facilitate Sisal’s players' deposit and withdrawal journey for the Italian market, and would also help with fraud prevention, cards acquiring and alternative payments acceptance.

The agreement follows the launch of several other Tier 1 customers with SafeCharge’s payment solutions, including Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo, PaddyPower Betfair, and Israel's national airline EL AL.

"We are delighted to have secured Sisal, our first significant Italian client and the latest Tier 1 enterprise customer to join our growing platform,” said SafeCharge's CEO David Avgi. “Importantly our engagement reflects the success of the company's continued momentum to complement our historic portfolio with additional large, high quality, lower risk customers providing stable income streams.

"By working with Sisal.it we are expanding our presence in the Italian market and delivering on our roadmap of extending our services to different territories."

Marco Tiso, Sisal’s online gaming business manager, added: "Further to reviewing a number of payments providers, in order to offer a more efficient service to our clients, we selected SafeCharge based on their established presence within the gaming industry, unique technologies for both deposit and withdrawals, full alignment with Italian gambling directives along with top-notch account management and technical support services.

“We believe we will be able to streamline our payments process and offer simpler and secure processing."

Shares in SafeCharge International Group Limited (Co. Data) (AIM:SCH) were trading up 1.15 per cent at 220.00 pence per share in London earlier Wednesday.
