A strong performance from lotteries and sports betting has helped Swedish state-controlled gaming operator Svenska Spel post a 2.7 per cent increase in net gaming revenues for the first half of 2012, offsetting declines in other parts of the business.

Net gaming revenues (NGR) in the first half climbed 2.7 per cent year-on-year to SEK4.77bn, primarily as a result of increased sales of sports betting games, Triss and Lotto, with the lotteries and sports segment (including online poker) contributing SEK3.18bn of total NGR, up 4.9 per cent versus a year ago.
