German state lottery operator LOTTO Hessen has posted a 5 per cent increase in sales for the first half of 2015, aided in part by progress online, but said that this growth could be accelerated if action is taken to block unlicensed gambling operators from targeting the state’s gaming market.

Sales for the six months ended June 30th grew to €317.9m, with 36.6m lottery tickets sold via the lotto-hessen.de web shop and the lottery’s network of more than 2,000 sales outlets.
