Greek gaming and lottery operator Opap has reported a 1 per cent increase in gross gaming revenue to €688.5m for the first half of 2017, benefiting from the first contribution from its newly rolled out video lottery terminals (VLTs) business.

Amounts wagered climbed 3 per cent to €2.13bn for the six month period, although betting revenue fell 4 per cent to €188.6m due to strong comparables from last year’s Euro 2016 football tournament. Lottery revenue increased by 1 per cent to €413.0m, while the expanding VLTs business contributed €9.4m.
