This week sees new slots released by Habanero, Gameiom Technologies, and Magnet Gaming, Quickspin’s games going live for the first time in Denmark, and Yggdrasil Gaming preparing to roll out its first titles in Italy.

Gameiom Technologies

The Isle of Man-based games developer has launched Backyard Gold, its second slot title for William Hill's Macau tab.

Available on desktop and mobile, Backyard Gold is a five-reel, fifty-line slot based on an ancient Chinese proverb. The proverb tells the tale of a man called Zhang San, who had saved up three hundred pieces of gold. Worried his money would be stolen, he put the coins in a box and buried it in his garden.

Still uneasy, he put a note by the gold saying: "Three hundred pieces of gold are not buried here."

Zhang's neighbour Wang Er noticed the activity in the yard and stole the money during the night. Worried about his crime, he added his own note to Zhang's, which said: "Your neighbour Wang Er did not steal the money."

The proverb aims to highlight the fact that guilty people inadvertently reveal they are at fault by trying to protest their innocence.

It is the second Gameiom title to go live on the Macau tab, following the release of Fortune Cats, which was launched last December.

"It's fantastic to have Backyard Gold being launched so quickly after the release of Fortune Cats," Gameiom chief product officer Steve Calvert said. "[Both] games have engaging gameplay features, and it is great that the team at Hills have recognised that players are enjoying playing Gameiom titles and are demanding more."

Habanero

The casino games developer will celebrate the Chinese New Year at the end of this month with the launch of its latest HTML5 title, Fire Rooster.

The 5x3-reel slot follows the Chinese legend of a rooster losing its crown in a competition with a centipede and a dragon. Players are encouraged to spin the reels and help the rooster win back what is rightfully his, as well as big prizes along the way.

Fire Rooster features free games and exploding wilds. During free games the Fire Rooster ignites to create adjacent wilds – right or left, up or down – to help players unlock more prizes.

“Fire Rooster is an explosive game with stunning high definition graphics and an immersive soundtrack,” said Habanero’s head of sales Daniel Long. “It is a fun theme, and as we expand into new markets, will offer our partners universal appeal.”

Fire Rooster comes hot on the heels of a number of recent releases from Habanero including Jugglenaut, Fenghuang, Oceans Call, Gangsters, and 12 Zodiacs.

Yggdrasil Gaming

Cherry subsidiary Yggdrasil Gaming is set to expand its European footprint as it begins the process of certifying its games and platform for the Italian regulated market.

The company will roll out eleven games with Italian operators during Q2 of this year, including popular titles Dark Joker Rizes, Vikings Go Wild and Holmes and the Stolen Stones.

Operators will have access to Yggdrasil’s HTML5 iSENSE 2.0 platform, alongside its collection of in-game promotional tool BOOST and social sharing tool BRAG.
With licenses in Gibraltar, the UK, Romania and Malta, the company said the move underlines its commitment to regulated markets.

“It is about time Yggdrasil crossed the Rubicon as Italy is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing markets in gaming,” commented Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming. “We already had a number of Tier 1 operators on our books who were active in Italy, so it really was a no-brainer to enter ourselves.

“We are delighted that Yggdrasil will have a presence in this exciting jurisdiction, and we are already in negotiations with some major operators.”

Quickspin

Playtech-owned games developer Quickspin has launched its games in Denmark for the first time, with its full suite of games now live with Intertain’s Vera&John brand.

Games including Big Bad Wolf, The Wild Chase, and Crystal Queen, are now available for mobile devices on the Vera&John.dk website.

Quickspin CEO Daniel Lindberg said the move was a major milestone for the company.

“We are thrilled to be entering the Danish market with our long-standing partner Vera&John. “We have worked closely and successfully with them over a number of years now, and we are excited about what we can achieve in new jurisdictions right across Europe.

“We have a portfolio bursting with some of the most entertaining and engaging games in the market, and we firmly believe Danish players will enjoy playing them as much as we have enjoyed making them.”

Victor Olinger, head of gaming at Vera&John, added: “Quickspin content is among the most popular in other markets, so we wanted to bring them to our Danish players too. We think they will be equally well-received and become player favourites in no time at all.”

Magnet Gaming

Magnet Gaming has released its latest title Gold Rush, a wild west-themed slot that transports players to the Valley of Riches.

The nine-reel Gold Rush slot sees players prospect for gold, with three Gold Digger or Gold Canyon symbols triggering bonus games.

In the Gold Digger game users sieve through mud to find the precious metal, while in the Gold Canyon game they ride a runaway cart in an attempt to win one of the game's two progressive jackpots.

Available for desktop and mobile devices, Gold Rush is the latest addition to Magnet's content portfolio, which already includes titles such as Vikings, Candy Kingdom, Auction Day and Space Gems.

"We're always looking to offer players fresh and fun slots to play, and that's what we have achieved with Gold Rush," Magnet's head of gaming licensing Thomas Nielsen commented. "Players can now go for gold from the comfort of their own home or even on the go, knowing that progressive jackpots could soon change their lives forever," he said.

"High quality graphics and sound are always at the forefront of our minds when putting together new ideas and Gold Rush could be our best yet."

The supplier, which is licensed to offer its titles to Danish, Belgian and UK clients, said it aims to expand on its product range and secure new licences during 2017.

Zitro

Spanish bingo supplier Zitro has installed a number of video bingo machines in Portugal for the first time through its partnership with Porto-based Casino Espinho.

Owned by the Solverde Group, Casino Espinho is situated near the city of Porto in the north of Portugal and offers a range of slot, bingo and classic table games.

Following a collaboration with local distributor Trade Game, customers will now be able to participate in Zitro’s video bingo games via the supplier’s Big Bang and Blackwave gaming machines.

Zitro CEO Sebastián Salat said that the launch was a milestone in the company’s growth strategy, which in addition to progressing new products would lead to expansion into new international markets.

“This is an important goal that we have achieved by opening a new market, which until now has not had video bingo,” commented Salat. “We have been able to do it with our new distributor Trade Game to whom we would like to thank their professionalism and trust placed in our products.”

Marcos Pinto, operations manager for Trade Game, said he was particularly pleased with the successful launch of Zitro’s product in the Portuguese market.

“Performance has been increasing since its first installation and has not yet stagnated,” he said. “Usually we see the opposite effect. This means that the Zitro product is gaining more and more fans among the players.

“We believe that the growth of the casino business in Portugal requires innovative products that really expand the offer of the existing casinos.”

Lightning Box Games

Australia’s Lightning Box Games has expanded its presence in the land-based gaming sector with a new content distribution deal with electronic games supplier Everi Games, a subsidiary of New York-listed Everi Holdings.

The Sydney-based developer will provide Everi with a selection of games for its Core HDX and Player HD gaming cabinets. The first two titles, Silver Pride and More Fire, will be rolled out to North American casinos this month with additional titles to be added later in the year.

“Everi Games continues to establish itself as a leading supplier of both Class II and Class III gaming content for casino operators in North America,” said Peter Causley, managing director and co-founder of Lightning Box. “I’m quietly confident that our innovative games featured in Everi Games’ popular gaming cabinets will provide casino guests with a high level of gaming entertainment value, as they have proven elsewhere in the North American market and in other jurisdictions around the world.

“We look forward to working closely with the Everi Games team to bring our exciting games to their customers’ casinos.”

Everi Games provides content, gaming units and systems for casinos in North America, including the TournEvent slot tournament solution and the central video lottery terminal system for racetracks in the state of New York.

“Partnering with Lightning Box Games to bring their high-quality games to our customers’ facilities is an important step in our goal to increase the level of gaming content we offer,” said Michael Rumbolz, president and CEO of Everi Holdings.

“In North America as well as in jurisdictions around the world, Lighting Box Games’ content has proven to be popular with players and we look forward to working with their team to expand the distribution of these exciting games.”

Microgaming

Kahnawake-licensed operator Captain Cooks Casino has paid out a €6m prize to a player who hit the jackpot on Microgaming’s progressive slot Mega Moolah.

The lucky player named only as N.C, won the €6,078,249.33 prize earlier this week on January 16th on a mobile version of the popular jackpot game.

“What also makes this win incredible is that N.C. has become the 7th member of the Casino Rewards Millionaire Club off a 50 cent bet.”

David Reynolds, games publisher at Microgaming, added: “What a great way to start 2017, winning a mind-blowing €6 million. Mega Moolah continues to make the headlines, delivering frequent life-changing pay-outs. Congratulations to Captain Cooks Casino and their player on this mega win.”
