Playtech has teamed up with MGM Interactive, a subsidiary of US media giant Metro Goldwyn Mayer, to launch a new slot based on iconic 1980s cyberpunk science fiction film RoboCop.

Set in a dystopian future, the film follows a cyborg policeman created after cop Alex Murphy is shot and left for dead by drug dealers as he cleans up the streets of Detroit.

It has proved to be a cult classic, winning an Academy Award for best sound editing with a remake released in 2014.

The new Playtech slot sees players help RoboCop bring criminals to justice with an arsenal of crime-fighting tools and free games modes such as multipliers, additional cash prizes and wild symbols.

"Many players will have grown up watching this iconic film which none of us will forget for its, non-stop action sequences and the incredible presence and sounds of RoboCop himself," Playtech casino director James Frendo commented.

"The Playtech content team has worked incredibly hard to deliver a game that stays true to the original film, includes some stunning new features and brings players right to the heart of the action."
