Industry leading casino supplier NetEnt has secured the rights to develop games based on the popular TV shows Narcos and Vikings.

The Golden Globe and Emmy award-nominated Narcos will be transformed into a slot title, joining NetEnt’s growing portfolio of branded games that includes Jumanji, Guns n’ Roses, and Planet of the Apes.

“We’re continuing to push boundaries with our branded games and Narcos is certainly one of our biggest deals to date,” said Henrik Fagerlund, chief product officer of NetEnt.

“The series became an overnight sensation with a huge fan base all over the world and it gives us yet another demographic who can have fun playing our games.”

NetEnt, which was revealed yesterday (February 6th) as the Gaming Intelligence Awards casino supplier of the year for the fourth year in succession, has also agreed a deal with A+E Networks to develop a branded slot title based on the hit TV series Vikings.

The new Vikings games is scheduled for release at the end of 2018.

“To be able to provide our players with a different genre of branded game showcases the hard work we’re putting in behind the scenes to create such high-quality content and further expand our portfolio,” added Fagerlund.

“Vikings has quickly become a TV favourite since the first season in 2013 and appeals to a vast audience worldwide. It’s a classic and historical theme packed with action and we’re sure the players will be looking forward to the launch later this year.”

Alongside the casino supplier of the year award for NetEnt, Fagerlund was also recognised at the GIAs Tuesday for his personal achievements, being named one of the Gaming Intelligence HOT50 of 2018 along with NetEnt colleagues Nadiya Attard and Sandra Carlsson.

Shares in NetEnt AB (STO:NET-B) were trading up 6.08 per cent at SEK45.36 per share in Stockholm Wednesday morning.
