Ladbrokes has rolled out a new feature that allows customers to generate betslips on their smartphones as it looks to introduce paperless betting across its retail estate.

The betslip generator has been developed as an extension of the Football Buddy feature, itself an extension of the brand's retail companion app The Grid.

Using Football Buddy, customers build accumulators by finding teams and markets to bet on, and now produce a digital betslip. They can then choose their stake and generate a barcode, which in turn creates a coupon that can be scanned at the shop counter to place the bet.

This then generates a receipt, which can be scanned in the Grid app, allowing customers to track their bet and, where available, cash out.

The betslip generator has been launched as Ladbrokes looks to familiarise retail customers with betting on their own devices.

"We're constantly looking at new ways of simplifying and improving our shop customers' betting experience," Ladbrokes Coral head of omnichannel product Darren Calvia said.

"The new betslip generator is the next step in the digital future proofing of the Ladbrokes retail estate and it supports our business vision to move from analogue to digital experience in shops."
