Server-based gaming specialist Inspired Gaming Group is set to launch its virtual sports products in the Italian market after securing approval from Italian gambling regulator AAMS.

Inspired becomes the second company to receive a virtual sports licence in Italy after South African supplier Kiron Interactive was approved earlier this month, and will begin the roll-out of its portfolio after completing 6-8 weeks of final testing.

Having secured deals with nine of the market’s leading operators including SNAI, Lottomatic and Sisal, the Inspired will power approximately 90 per cent of the Italian virtual sports market, covering 12,000 venues and 50 gaming sites. It will initially launch eight products in Italy including football, horse racing, trotting, motor racing and tennis, with additional sports to go live over the coming months.

President of Inspired Gaming Italy Vitaliano Casalone said that with the company’s virtual sports products generating 10 per cent of over-the-counter bets in the UK, the company was “confident that [its] products will be at least as popular in Italy.”

“We pride ourselves on supplying a wide range of sports with premium graphics and a range of betting markets for retail, online and mobile channels, which have proven to generate the most income for our customers,” he added.

Inspired’s products generate more than €5bn in revenues and €700m in gross win worldwide, serving a diverse range of markets including China, where it has supplied products to AGTech and joint-venture partner Ladbrokes to launch Virtual Football and Lucky Racing Game with the Jiangsu and Hunan Sports Lotteries respectively.
