A federal judge in Nevada has dismissed Chad Elie’s case against Ifrah Law, which was brought after Elie was imprisoned for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and operate illegal gambling businesses.
Elie was one of the payment processors named in the April 15th indictment against PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker. He brought the case against Ifrah Law from his prison cell, after he was sentenced to five months.
Elie was represented by contingency fee Las Vegas law firm Chattah Law, which specialises in family law, personal injury cases and class action and malpractice suits against large corporate entities. The case made various allegations about Ifrah’s advice and actions prior to Black Friday including the claim that Elie would not have processed payments for Full Tilt and PokerStars if Ifrah had not told him the practice was legal.
