Idaho Governor Butch Otter has vetoed a bill that would have banned instant racing gaming machines in the state, but will look to address tribal concerns over the spread of the machines with the formation of a new gaming commission.
Otter vetoed S1011, which seeked to repeal HB220, a bill passed during the 2013 legislative session authorising pari-mutuel wagering on “historical” or previously run horse races.
