Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin has has issued an opinion stating that daily fantasy sports contests are permissible under state law, bucking the trend set by other state Attorneys General.
Kilmartin said that DFS does not constitute a game of chance under current regulations, but urged Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, Senate President Teresa Pavia Weed and Speaker Nicholas Mattiello to establish regulations to better protect players.
