Cherry subsidiary Yggdrasil Gaming has been awarded a B2B remote gambling licence from the Gibraltar Licensing Authority.

As a result of the approval, the Malta-based company can now offer its gaming platform and online slot games to Gibraltar-licensed operators, as well as also host clients in the UK from its Gibraltar infrastructure.

It follows the award of a licence by the UK Gambling Commission in December 2015 with regard to its Maltese infrastructure.

“The Gibraltar licence really is an important piece of the jigsaw for Yggdrasil,” said Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO of Yggdrasil Gaming. “We’ve had great success in Malta and things have been going really well since we received our UK licence in December.

“Gibraltar is a hugely important jurisdiction with a large number of major operators and we are delighted to become part of the Gibraltar e-gaming community.”

Over the past 12 months, Yggdrasil has signed agreements with several leading operators in Europe, introduced a range of promotional tools called BOOST and released numerous new slot games including Monkey King, Seasons, Vikings Go Wild, progressive jackpot Joker Millions, and Nirvana.

“We’ve established a point of difference compared with other suppliers which will help us achieve our aim of becoming the best supplier in the industry,” added Elmqvist.
