Respin, the joint venture between Nektan and Spin Games, has received approval from an independent testing lab for the launch of its Class II Mobile in-venue gaming solution Rapid Games in the US market.

The Class II compliance certification allows tribal jurisdictions to start rolling out the product, which allows casino patrons to play games via their mobile device in designated areas of the casino property.

The product suite may be the first of its kind in the US market, according to Nektan, which said that it was unaware of any other mobile product that has achieved Class II compliance.

Class II gaming use bingo pay tables to distribute games of chance such as slots and bingo, with each played on a pooled basis. This means users play against one another rather than against a single machine or the house, with the game genre currently generating around £33bn of annual casino gaming spend in the US.

“We are delighted to be able to announce this landmark product approval for our on premises gaming product,” Nektan chairman Jim Wilkinson said.

“It is a key approval for the industry, and we believe this exciting product will be a great success for both Respin LLC, US casinos and their players who will benefit from an augmented gaming experience.

“Our industry continues to strive for mobile gaming solutions to cater to future generations, and we believe this is a positive step in that direction,” Wilkinson continued. “Class II offers many benefits for tribal casinos and we feel this is a smart and compelling solution for their players.”

The first title to be released in Respin’s Class II range will be Rapid Bingo, with additional games scheduled for release in the third quarter of the year.

Shares in Nektan plc (Co.Data) (AIM:NKTN) were trading up 2.22 per cent at 69.00 pence per share in London early Tuesday morning.
