Toronto-listed supplier NYX Gaming Group Limited is the latest company to be awarded a Class 2 license by the Romanian National Gambling Office (ONJN).

The license allows NYX to supply licensed operators with iGaming content via its Open Gaming System (OGS™) Platform in the regulated Romanian market.

This approval reinforces NYX's strategy of increasing its global footprint and expand relationships in licensed jurisdictions, while expanding its international profile as a key digital gaming solutions provider, the supplier said.

Romania's new gambling regulations were passed in March, establishing a clear legislative framework for land-based and online operators, and followed the awarding of the country's first online operating licences in January.

NYX Gaming joins the likes of Playtech, Vermantia and NetEnt, alongside payment processors Worldpay and SafeCharge in securing licenses to operate in Romania.

David Flynn, NYX EVP Business Development at NYX commented: "We're very pleased to be entering the Romanian market, having met the high level of standards set by the ONJN."

"Expansion within regulated markets is an important part of the NYX growth strategy," Flynn explained. "The achievement of our Romanian license underlines the calibre of our Open Gaming System and Omni-channel content portfolio, and allows us to bring our innovative gaming expertise to this continually expanding market."

Shares in NYX Gaming Group Inc (Co.Data) (TSX:NYX) closed up 0.40 per cent at CAD$2.51 per share in Toronto Friday.
