ESSA has signed an agreement with The R&A, organisers of golf’s oldest major championship The Open, to strengthen efforts to prevent betting-related corruption.
The regulated betting industry’s integrity body has agreed a formal information sharing deal with The R&A, which together with the United States Golf Association governs the sport of golf worldwide.
ESSA will employ its alert and reporting system covering its members’ regulated betting markets, to monitor The Open for any suspicious betting patterns.
