ECJ rejects Belgian challenge against consumer protection guidelines

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has rejected the Belgian government's claim that the European Commission (EC) infringed on member states' rights by issuing consumer protection guidelines for gambling.

The guidelines published in 2014 set out a range of common-sense recommendations to ensure a high level of protection for gamblers in EU member states.
