Bookmaker Mark Jarvis pays penalty for customer interaction failures

British independent bookmaker Mark Jarvis has been ordered to pay a £94,000 penalty after failing to protect a customer who showed signs of problem gambling.

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) revealed that over a 19-month period, the bookmaker failed to follow customer interaction rules when a customer showed problem gambling traits.

This included spending £34,000 through debit cards on B2 gaming machines in one betting shop. Of this amount, £11,250 was stolen from his employer.
