Internet search giant Google removed more advertisements than ever before in 2016 for violations of its advertising policies, including more than 17m related to illegal gambling.
Google removed 1.7bn bad ads last year, which it describes as those which promote illegal products or unrealistic offers, trick people into sharing personal information, or infect devices with harmful software. This was more than double the number in 2015.
