Novomatic’s wholly-owned subsidiary Novomatic Lottery Solutions (NLS) has won a seven-year contract to provide its technology platform to Estonian National Lottery operator Eesti Loto.
The contract was awarded under a competitive procurement process and sees NLS provide the lottery with central system and player account management solutions, enabling the operator to manage sales across all channels including mobile, retail, and online via Eestiloto.ee.
The new seven-year contract, which includes the option of two one-year extensions, also covers NLS' portfolio of eInstant games.
NLS managing director and CEO Frank Cecchini said that his company's omni-channel solution will enable Eesti Loto to “create an entirely new player experience by breaking down the barriers that used to exist between channels.”
“Eesti Loto will have the freedom to incorporate best-of-breed services and content; deploy the most appropriate POS (point of sale) devices and deliver a whole new experience to its players,” he said. “We are extremely excited to be working in partnership with one of the most technically advanced lotteries in the region and are looking forward to working with Eesti Loto to realise the benefits of a truly modern system where technology is not a barrier to growing the business.”
The lottery will utilise NLS’ Thin Retail Client solution, which allows it to use any third-party hardware for its Linux-based POS systems, as well as Android devices for smaller retailers.
NLS explained that this strategy will significantly strengthen the lottery’s retail footprint by improving its instant ticket sales channel and enabling lottery sales at smaller retail locations.
Eesti Loto will also work with its retail partners to roll out the NLS POS Embedded solution, which allows supermarkets to offer lottery games and instants tickets within their stores.
“This will be a major jump forward,” said Eesti Loto CEO Heiki Kranich. “We selected the NLS system and team because they are the most ready to support our inventive team who rely on technology to open doors to new possibilities and maintain Eesti Loto’s reputation for innovation and technological leadership in a country where these qualities are the norm.”
“NLS provides an advanced, secure and robust multichannel system with player registration methods that will allow Eesti Loto to achieve its commercial objectives as well as further implement our KYC and Responsible Gaming strategy,” Kranich added.
