Novomatic Lottery Solutions has been awarded the contract to replace the aging lottery terminals of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

The contract was awarded following a competitive procurement process and will see NLS replace the 12 year old terminals currently deployed by the lottery operator, helping to improve the customer experience through faster purchasing, enhanced functionality and a more user-friendly interface.

The replacement of the legacy terminals is part of BCLC’s plan to sustainably grow and modernise the lottery, which also includes the roll out of new stand-alone ticket checkers, printers and display units, along with related software.

"NLS' solution was determined as industry leading and the best fit for BCLC’s needs," said the lottery operator. "This is a flexible solution that can be easily integrated within the business, and will serve the organization for years to come. Novomatic is a global leader in the gaming industry and a proven vendor for other areas of BCLC's business including Casino and eGaming."

The value of the contract to NLS is estimated to be in the region of CAD$22m.
