UK-based lottery solutions provider LOT.TO has agreed a deal to power the online offering of Gambian lottery operator Lotto-Bi.
Lotto-Bi is licensed by the Gambian government to offer lottery betting through its network of lottery retailers, as well as online, as there is no dedicated lottery draw in Gambia.
Using the LOT.TO solution, it will allow players in Gambia to bet on the result of some of the world’s largest lottery draws, including Mega Millions, Powerball, EuroMillions and the UK Lotto. This will be followed by the launch of daily fantasy sports.
"There is massive potential in the newly liberalised Gambian gaming market and surrounding countries, so we're very excited to be working with Lotto-Bi on the launch of The Gambia's first national lottery," said LOT.TO head of customer success Rob Lawson. "Lotto-Bi offers truly life-changing games that can be played at any of the Lotto-Bi agents across the country."
The partnership follows the recent legalisation of gambling in the country. The activity was banned by former president Yahya Jammeh in 2015, with the current government of Adama Barrow allowing the ban to expire last year in the majority-Muslim country.
"Having initially launched with an in-house solution back in December 2017, we quickly realised that we needed an advanced online lottery platform to meet demand and fulfil the potential of the business, which is why we chose LOT.TO," said Lotto-Bi co-founder Joop Logger.
"Our teams have worked closely together, creating a suite of games that are tailored to the Gambian market, offering the choice of cash sales via our agent network, or online play."
