The Australian state of New South Wales has entered into an agreement with lottery operator Tabcorp, preventing it from expanding lottery sales to large supermarket chains.

The agreement extends the current "lottery protections" through to 2021 and has been hailed by the Australian Lottery and Newsagents Association (ALNA) as a welcome move to "protect consumers and small businesses".
