The High Court of Australia has today ruled against Sportsbet and Betfair in their fight against the race field fees imposed on betting operators’ horse racing turnover in New South Wales.
The case dates back to October 2008 when Betfair began court proceedings challenging the validity of decisions by Racing NSW and Harness Racing NSW to impose a 1.5 per cent turnover fee on all betting operators covering NSW thoroughbred and harness races.
