Rank Group has called on the government to re-think its approach to the regulation of gambling in order to support economic growth in the UK.
In its ‘GamePlan’ report published yesterday, Rank’s chairman and chief executive Ian Burke argues that regulation of gambling should go beyond just focusing on harm minimisation measures.
“We believe that the over-arching role of gambling legislation should be to maximise the benefits to society and the economy while minimising costs,” he said.
