Skillz launches US real-money mobile gaming platform

San Francisco-based mobile gaming start-up Skillz has launched a multiplayer tournament platform for skill-based mobile games which it says will enable developers to host cash competitions in 36 US states.

The venture capital backed firm has launched its beta platform with ten game studios, each releasing one Android title initially, spanning a range of genres including sports, puzzle and arcade.
