Mexican gaming legislation approved and now heads to Senate

Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies has approved a draft decree to introduce the first update to the country’s gambling regulations since 1947, with the legislation now heading to the country’s Senate for further approval.

A total of 297 deputies voted Wednesday in favour of the Ley Federal de Juegos con Apuesta y Sorteos, with 34 voting against and 17 abstentions, after the regulations were approved by a Government Commission last week.
