Online gaming operators Unibet and Vera&John have come under fire from Sweden’s advertising ombudsman (Reklamombudsmanen) for running advertisements in the country that were “designed without a due sense of social responsibility”.

Both ads were in breach of the International Chamber of Commerce’s (ICC) rules relating to advertising and marketing.

An outdoor ad and TV commercial produced by Unibet, and an online banner ad for Vera&John, were all found to breach articles 1 and 5 of ICC advertising rules, after Sweden’s Gaming Industry Ethical Council (SPER) complained to the Reklamombudsmanen.
