Live dealer software provider Evolution Gaming is to add side bets to its live blackjack offering, with Perfect Pairs and 21+3 to go live with the supplier’s licensees at the end of the month.

Players will be able to turn the side bets on and off each time they sit down at a table, with the chance to win up to 100 times their side bet stake.

When playing Perfect Pairs, players aim to match their card with one of the same number, colour or suit, while in 21+3 the player has to match their first two cards with the dealer’s up-card, aiming to create combinations of cards similar to a game of poker.

In short, the player’s objective with Perfect Pairs is to make a Mixed, Coloured or Perfect Pair with their first two cards. In 21+3 the player combines his or her first two cards with the dealer’s up-card to win with a range of Poker-style card combinations.

“Perfect Pairs and 21+3 add extra levels of playability and more ways to try to beat the dealer,” Evolution’s director of product Fredrik Bjurle explained. “At the same time, these side bets add extra game interest even for players who want to stick to the main bet.”

The new feature will be rolled out across all of Evolution’s blackjack tables, in a bid to reinforce the game’s status as “the fastest, most realistic and most endlessly engaging live dealer Blackjack game available online,” according to Bjurle.

Bjurle explained that the addition of side bets would offer players “unobtrusive but easy to access extra betting options,” adding “even more layers of interest” to the blackjack product.
