Auditor-General raises concerns over ACTTAB bid process

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Auditor-General has recommended that the state government examine its procurement policies and procedures, after raising concerns regarding last year’s sale of the ACTTAB betting agency to Tabcorp.

In a report presented to Parliament, Auditor-General Dr Maxine Cooper said that while the sale of the state-owned betting agency ACTTAB to Tabcorp had “far exceeded expectations”, there were concerns over inadequacies during the bidding process which could easily have been avoided.
