US gaming supplier Bally Technologies has announced that it has connected its Cash Connection wide-area progressive slots across the US states of Nevada and New Jersey for the first time.
The multi-state progressive slot link allows jackpots to reach larger amounts more quickly, offering increased excitement for players and driving play for operators.
The launch comes after gaming regulators in Nevada and New Jersey passed regulations allowing slot jackpots to be linked across state lines.
Earlier this year, Bally rival IGT rolled out its first ever commercial multi-state wide area progressive jackpot game between New Jersey and South Dakota. The company claimed it was the industry's first ever commercial inter-jurisdictional wide area progressive jackpot.
Bally's Cash Connection interstate wide-area progressive link went live on Wednesday, with jackpot totals for Nevada and New Jersey combined for an immediately larger reward.
The combined link started with a primary amount of approximately $2.2m and continues to grow. The multistate link features Bally's popular games including TITANIC, The Magic of David Copperfield, Betty Boop's Fortune Teller, Jackpot Empire, and Hot Shot Progressive among others.
“Bally is excited to offer players in Nevada and New Jersey an enhanced progressive experience with the possibility of larger, more exciting rewards,” said Robert Parente, Bally Technologies' senior vice president of North American sales and corporate marketing. “We believe that this is a great opportunity for the gaming industry: for casino operators, the potential for higher rewards drives player demand, while players will be thrilled at the chance to win an even larger jackpot.”
Shares in Bally Technologies Inc (Co. Data) (NYSE:BYI) closed Wednesday at $77.70 per share in New York.
