Italian gaming operator Sisal has launched Live Channel, a streaming solution from Sportradar subsidiary Betradar, across the online and retail channels of its sports betting brand Sisal Matchpoint.

The Live Channel product is now live in more than 500 Sisal retail outlets in Italy, as well as on the operator’s iGaming site Sisal.it.

Sisal managing director Francesco Duarte said that customers were looking for greater interaction with sports, as shown by the growing popularity of in-play betting.

“Sisal Live Channel offers a rich schedule of sports events, supported by information, statistics and the latest technology,” he added.

“We’re very delighted to have sealed the partnership with Italian key player Sisal Matchpoint,” Sportradar’s managing director of media rights Jörn Anhalt added. “The integration of Live Channel Online and Retail strengthen Sisal’s portfolio significantly with entertaining and revenue-generating live streaming solutions, dedicated for every platform.”

The Live Channel solution was rolled out for online operators in August this year, with Spanish operator Codere launching the product in October.

In related news, Betradar’s parent company Sportradar has been selected by the Asean Football Federation (AFF), the football governing body of South East Asia, to monitor the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup for suspicious betting activity.

Jointly hosted by Vietnam and Singapore, with eight South Asian teams competing, the tournament will be monitored using Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System. The company will also host education workshops for tournament officials.

Sportradar senior manager for Asia Oscar Brodkin said it was especially encouraging that Asian football federations were determined to tackle match-fixing.

“The AFF today have shown their unwavering commitment to integrity and we will work tirelessly to help the tournament officials spot the danger signs and to keep the AFF abreast of any suspicious behaviour in the regulated and unregulated betting markets,” Brodkin explained. “The players and fans will make this is a magic tournament; we will do all we can to keep it honest.”
