A New Zealand resident has won €6.4m (NZ$10.1m) on Microgaming’s Mega Moolah progressive slot game, while playing on Malta-licensed online casino operator Casinoland.com.

Rawiri Pou, a 27 year-old from Matamata in New Zealand, hit the €6,355,463.98 jackpot on June 17th, playing on Casinoland.com.

The prize is among the largest ever paid out by Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, and follows a jackpot win in April this year of €6.9m. He will receive the win in a lump sum.

“Mega Moolah and our progressive jackpot network continues to make the headlines,” said John Quinn, head of casino at Microgaming. “To be able to deliver frequent life-changing jackpots to our operators’ players is certainly a highlight of the job. Many congratulations to Rawiri and Casinoland on this mega win.”

A spokesman for Casinoland said: "We’re all thrilled for Rawiri, it’s a life changing amount of money and we wish him the very best for the future. His huge win has shown that Casinoland has the games and jackpots to deliver mega wins and we hope that Rawiri is the first of many progressive jackpot winners here at Casinoland.”

Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network has paid out over €595m to date, and holds the Guiness World Records title for the largest jackpot payout in an online slot - £13.2m to a Betway.com customer last year.
