GVC Holdings-owned partypoker has formed a strategic partnership with Playground Poker Club, Canada’s premier poker destination.

Playground Poker Club hosts several major poker events including World Poker Tour stops. The partnership will kickoff at the Canadian Grand Prix tournament between September 2nd and 5th 2016, a headline event for the World Cup of Cards (WCC) festival.

The WCC is a month-long poker festival featuring 39 tournaments, including the Canadian Grand Prix and the partypoker sponsored WPT National event, with more than CAD$2 million in guaranteed prize pools.

In the coming weeks, Playground Poker Club will have its own dedicated tab in the partypoker tournament lobby where  players will be able to find online satellites for all major live events at the club, including the upcoming GPPT Canada

Playground Poker Club CMO Phil Sabbah said of the partnership: “I am thrilled to announce this partnership with partypoker. This multi-year agreement gives all of our club members the opportunity to play prestigious partypoker events online and also allows us to run online satellites for our live events aimed at the entire Canadian market.”

Group Head of partypoker, Tom Waters, added: “We are looking forward to working with the Playground Poker team who have built a hugely successful live poker experience for the North American poker community.

“Using their intricate knowledge of the Canadian poker market, we have the opportunity to reinvigorate the partypoker brand, attract a new generation of players and provide a platform for our existing online users that will give them the experience of playing live poker at Playground all year round.”
