Online gaming operator Betway has moved to significantly boost its brand awareness in Germany, signing deals to become the official betting partner of five clubs in the country's second-highest football league, the 2. Bundesliga.
It has signed deals with Hamburg-based FC St Pauli, Union Berlin, Eintracht Braunschweig, Karlsruher SC and Dynamo Dresden, with each agreement kicking off in August 2016 and running for the next three 2. Bundesliga seasons.
The operator already sponsors a number of clubs and individuals across a number of sports, including a range of tennis and darts competitions, the English Federation of Disability Sport and Premier League football team West Ham United.
“The Bundesliga is one of the most avidly followed leagues in the world, and we’re delighted to have signed partnerships agreements with five clubs who boast significant heritage and history in both German and European football," Betway marketing and operations director Anthony Werkman commented.
“Betway has always had football coursing through its veins, and we’ve been thrilled to be the official sponsor of West Ham United amid an historic period of success and growth for the club.
"We look forward to supporting the five 2. Bundesliga clubs as they embark on a new season, with the glory of promotion to the top tier on offer," he added.
