UK-licensed betting exchange operator Matchbook has been unveiled as the new sponsor of a number of race days at Sandown Park and Kempton Park racecourses.

Matchbook will sponsor 16 fixtures in total, including the Imperial Cup day at Sandown Park on March 11th and Silver Cups day at Kempton Park, which takes place the following week on March 18th

The agreement also includes sponsorship of the Brigadier Gerard race day at Sandown Park on May 25th, covering the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes and Group 3 Henry II Stakes.

The races will all be broadcast live on UK television channel ITV4, with Matchbook also acting as the sole sponsor for a number of other jump and all weather races at Kempton Park throughout the year.

“We were delighted to be able to sign this deal and expand our relationship on account of their status as an authorised betting partner of British Racing,” said Phil White, London region director for The Jockey Club. “We look forward to exciting renewals of these prestigious races.”

Matchbook CEO Mark Brosnan said it was important that every horse racing bet with the operator contributed to the future growth of British horseracing, and that being an authorised betting partner was one way of demonstrating the company's commitment to the sport.

“These sponsorships are part of Matchbook’s commitment to be the betting exchange for horse racing with consistently stand-out pricing on favourites every day in UK and Irish racing,” he said. “This is part of our overarching strategy to disrupt the complacency of not only our exchange rivals, but the sportsbooks too.”
