Finland’s Culture and Sport Minister Stefan Wallin has appointed former Finance Minister Suvi-Anne Siimes as the new chairperson of state-owned lottery operator Veikkaus.
Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting Wednesday, Wallin announced that the post would be held by a woman for the first time and highlighted the increasing number of management positions in Finland held by women, which he said was one of the government’s gender equality policy priorities.
