UEFA bans Turkish football clubs in match-fixing crackdown

European football’s governing body UEFA has banned two Turkish clubs from next season’s leading European football competitions following allegations of match-fixing in the clubs’ domestic league.

The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body (CDB) announced its decisions following disciplinary proceedings relating to Fenerbahçe SK and Beşiktaş JK.

The CDB said that it had carefully analysed the situation of both clubs, and ruled that Fenerbahçe will be banned from European competition for three seasons, including next season’s Champions League, [...]
