The Netherlands State Lottery (Staatsloterij) and charitable lottery De Lotto are investigating a possible merger to allow the combined entity to better compete in the regulated Dutch online gaming market.
A spokesman for the Staatsloterij explained that with the planned re-regulation of the Dutch online gaming market in January 2015, it was taking steps to ensure it could effectively compete in the liberalised market.
