Worldwide lottery sales grew by 9 per cent during the first quarter of 2014, according to the latest figures released by the World Lottery Association (WLA), with growth across all regions, in particular Latin America.
The WLA, the umbrella organisation for state lottery and gaming operators, said that participating lotteries had defied expectations to make a “bright start” to 2014 – the best opening to a new year since 2012.
