The merger of the Netherlands’ Staatsloterij and De Lotto Owner Sichting Nationale Sporttotlisator (SNS) looks set to go ahead after the country’s Council of Ministers gave the deal the green light, despite warnings that the new entity could unfairly dominate the market.
Secretary of State for Finance Eric Wiebes has concluded that the merger will be positive not only for the companies, but also for the state, charities and sporting entities that receive funding from the lotteries.
