Germany’s Lotto und Totoblock (DLTB) has claimed that the European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling on the country’s gambling laws confirms the legality of the State Treaty on Gambling, contradicting the prevailing opinion that the ruling will necessitate a total overhaul of the law.
The ECJ ruled that an individual, Austrian Sebat Ince, could not be prosecuted for facilitating online gaming in Germany under the 2008 or 2012 incarnations of the Treaty.
