Washington launches illegal gambling crackdown against Valve

The gambling regulator of Washington state has taken action against Valve Corporation’s Steam platform for facilitating illegal gambling.

The Washington State Gaming Commission sees the platform as a central facilitator of skin betting, where players use in-game virtual items such as weapons or outfits as collateral for bets.

Valve Corporation is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, falling under the Commission's jurisdiction.
