French sports bettors wagered €363m on the 48 group matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, more than the total amount staked on the entire 2014 tournament.
The figures from French iGaming regulator L'Autorité de régulation des jeux en ligne (ARJEL) reveal that during the group stage, players wagered €159m across La Française des Jeux's ParionsSport retail network.
