Lottery sales in China fell for the first time in nearly a year in January, falling 11 per cent to RMB29.16bn (€3.99bn).
The decline ended ten consecutive months of year-on-year growth and was likely impacted by the week-long Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations which fell in late January.
There were declines at both the Welfare Lottery and Sports Lottery, according to results published by China’s Ministry of Finance.
